SpaceX to announce new plans for circumlunar trip
Posted: Sun, Sep 16, 2018, 10:39 AM ET (1439 GMT)
SpaceX will announce plans September 17 to send someone around the moon on its BFR vehicle. In a pair of tweets late Thursday, the company said that it will announce the identity of the "world's first private passenger" to fly around the moon at an event Monday evening. SpaceX said last year it would send two people on a lunar mission, flying on a Crew Dragon spacecraft launched on a Falcon Heavy. The company tabled that plan, though, when it announced early this year it no longer anticipated human-rating the Falcon Heavy. SpaceX didn't disclose the schedule for that mission or other details.
