Atlas launch of NRO payload postponed
Posted: Tue, Mar 25, 2014, 7:02 AM ET (1102 GMT)
A range issue has delayed the launch of a classified satellite on an Atlas 5 that was scheduled for Tuesday. The launch, previously planned for 2:48 pm EDT (1848 GMT) Tuesday from Cape Canaveral, was postponed Monday evening because of a range instrumentation outage, according to a statement. The launch will be delayed at least 24 hours, and perhaps longer; no new launch date has been announced. The Atlas 5 is carrying a classified satellite for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) on a mission designated NROL-67.
