STS-124: landing (NASA/KSC) The space shuttle Discovery wrapped up its mission to the International Space Station with a safe landing at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida Saturday morning. Discovery touched down at KSC's runway 15 at 11:15 am EDT (1515 GMT), ending the STS-124 mission almost exactly two weeks after liftoff. The shuttle's crew installed the station's newest component, the main part of the Japanese lab module Kibo, and exchanged ISS crew members, bringing Greg Chamitoff to the station and returning Garrett Reisman to Earth after 95 days in space. The next shuttle mission, STS-125, is scheduled for launch in early October. It is the final shuttle mission not associated with the assembly of the ISS; it will instead service the Hubble Space Telescope.
