Worden, Pete (USAF) NASA announced Friday that the agency has selected retired Air Force general Pete Worden as the next director of NASA's Ames Research Center in California. Worden, who retired from the Air Force in 2004 at the rank of brigadier general, served in a number of space-related positions in the Air Force, working on projects ranging from missile defense to the Clementine lunar mission.
