The four companies competing for the second phase of U.S. national security space launches all offer rockets with “viable technologies,” according to the Air Force’s top space acquisition commander.

“We are in the middle of evaluating” plans submitted last month in response to a request for proposals for National Security Space Launch competitions through 2027, Lieutenant General John Thompson, commander of the Space and Missile Systems Center, said in an interview.
