Boxing legend Frank Bruno reveals plans to head into space on Virgin Galactic ship
The former World Champ wants a coveted spot on Sir Richard Branson's spaceship as he claims it's the top item on his 'bucket list'
BOXING legend Frank Bruno has revealed he wants to boldly go where he hasn’t been before — into space.
The former heavyweight champ said he is keen to get a seat on Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic spaceship.
Asked to reveal the top item on his 'bucket list', Bruno, 56, said: “To go on Richard Branson’s new rocket to the moon.”
A ticket for a seat on the VSS Unity is set to cost around £175,000.
Sir Richard, 67, recently announced its first trip into space was just weeks away and that he planned to take fee-paying tourists.
Bruno finally won a world title at the fourth attempt when he outpointed WBC Champion Oliver McCall in 1995.
Three near-misses up against Tim Witherspoon, Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis between 1986-1993 left Bruno looking destined for a legacy as a nearly-man.
But he clinched that crucial title in the penultimate fight of his rollercoaster career
