On board the rocket is a GPS IIF satellite, which will provide better time, location and velocity information for the U.S. military.

The satellite, built by Boeing, is the seventh in a series of 12 designed for the U.S. Air Force.

The GPS information will be used in military aircraft, ships, land vehicles and in the hands of our troops.

The next generation satellite will also provide better GPS satellite information for the public as well, on smartphones and in cars.

It’s a quick turnaround for United Launch Alliance, which just launched a Delta IV rocket on Monday evening.

That launch was scrubbed four straight days, mostly because of storms in the area.

While scrubs may be frustrating, they’re not so bad for local restaurants and businesses.

“It lets people stay a little bit longer," said Bonnie King with the Space Coast Office of Tourism. "It might bring them back over. Maybe if they’re in the Orlando area and there was an opportunity to see a launch and it got scrubbed, they have the opportunity to come back and we’re not saying that’s not a bad idea.”
