SpaceX Falcon 9 lifts off from Cape Canaveral on supply mission to International Space Station

CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida - A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at approximately 2:25 p.m. CDT Friday carrying a Dragon capsule full of supplies to the International Space Station.

The Dragon is also carrying a protein crystal experiment from Alabama developed by the company iXpressGenes at Huntsville's HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. The Dragon will reach the space station on Easter Sunday morning.
