Lynda Glover, NASA Glenn's new diversity director.

BROOK PARK, Ohio -- Lynda Glover has been promoted to director of the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity at NASA Glenn Research Center.

Glover, who most recently was Glenn's disability program manager,  hopes to develop scientific measurements to prove to a science-minded staff "the connection between diversity and creativity."

In appointing her, Glenn Director James Free praised Glover's "passion for advancing Glenn's efforts to be a model center for equal employment opportunity."

Her appointment was effective March 23. Glover will lead and manage the center's diversity and equal opportunity programs. She will be responsible for eliminating workplace conflicts, accommodating workers with disabilities and more.

Glover was born in Grand Rapids, Mich. She earned a bachelor's degree in sociology at Jackson State and a master's in organizational management from Dallas Baptist University. She has been certified as a senior professional in human resources by the HR Certification Institute.

She joined Glenn in 1999. She lives in Cleveland's Mill Creek neighborhood with her husband.

A little more than 22 percent of some 1,600 staffers at NASA are minorities. Nearly 30 percent are female.
