Facebook haters Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss hope to be the first twins blasted together into space.
The brothers, who’ve long accused Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg of stealing their social network idea, also want to launch a fund that would make it easier to trade bitcoins on the stock market.
In a blog post, the businessmen said they were buying passage on Richard Branson‘s Virgin Galactic, where the going rate for a seat on the planned airline for space travel is $250,000. The would-be passenger list already includes Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Ashton Kushner.
Comparing themselves, and Branson, to historic travelers such as Marco Polo and the Pilgrims, the Winklevoss twins said they wanted to break the confines of space and currency with their purchases.
The brothers are avid investors in bitcoin, the digital currency at the center of recent financial debacles involving the unregulated form of money.
U.S. astronauts Scott and Mark Kelly, who is the husband of former congresswoman Gabbie Giffords, were the first twins to travel outer space, thought they didn’t blast off together.
